Welcome to the Colebrook Store!
Stop by for some delicious freshly-made sandwiches for breakfast or lunch, or grab some quick snacks or groceries. Our specials change daily, and we often have homemade chili, soups, or salads depending on the season. We serve breakfast all day, and always have store-made baked treats on hand.
The Store re-opened on December 13, 2014 under the new management of Jodi Marinelli. The Store carries a respected history as the oldest continuously operating general store in Connecticut, its span reaching from 1812-2007, 195 years.
“The Colebrook Store is a valuable historic property because of its importance as a local landmark, its commercial function, and its architectural interest as an example of what might be termed “country sophistication.” Colebrook Center provides environmental continuity for the property; almost all of the nearby buildings, including the town offices, are of late 18th and early 19th century origin. The store, with its distinctive portico and central location, is a vital part of the group. Moreover, 19th century accounts of the town use “the store” as a reference point in describing other locations, suggesting that it has been an important landmark for Colebrook citizens for over a century.”
